Location Focus on Fulflood

Having worked on projects in Winchester for over fifteen years, we have a huge amount of experience of the different properties available and how they can be adapted and extended. Here we run through some of the areas we’ve worked in and the projects we’ve completed.

For many people moving to Winchester, Fulflood is an ideal location to settle. Being close to the city centre, the railway station and excellent schools makes it popular among locals and new arrivals alike.

For families, Fulflood boasts a wide range of facilities. Nurseries, two primary schools, an Ofsted ‘good’ rated secondary at its centre and a sixth form college covers the education of all ages. It’s location and these amenities ensures it remains a popular area and homes sought after.

Our first homes in Winchester, over fifteen years ago, were both in Fulflood and many of our first projects in and around the area. In the intervening period we’ve worked on every house type the area has to offer.

On Western Road we completed extensions to two terraced properties, turning cramped living spaces into generous open plan areas suitable for family living. Similar projects on Elm Road, Fairfield Road and Cranworth Road saw the transformation of period properties with sympathetic extensions and imaginative alterations. On St Paul’s Hill we have completed two extensions to transform previous alterations which benefitted from fresh thinking.

While the houses on Hatherley Road appear to be more generous, they still have fairly compact rear outriggers which can also separate the houses from their gardens. One small project saw us transform and expand the kitchen and provide a new utility room while improving the circulation from the house to the garden room. This direct connection also improved the flow to the garden.

The interwar semi-detached housing of Fordington Road, Fordington Avenue, Milverton Road and Cheriton Road provides more generous houses and gardens close to the primary and secondary schools. We’ve completed projects on all of these house types, transformed their living spaces and added bedrooms through first floor extensions and loft conversions.

On Greenhill Road we refurbished and then extended our own home and completed a number of projects for our former neighbours. In just over ten years we completed seven projects on the street including ground floor extensions, loft conversions and full refurbishments to a variety of house types including interwar and post-war semis, detached houses and 1960s homes.

Our experience also encompasses the houses on the Poets Estate and Greenhill Close with five projects undertaken ranging from the internal reconfiguration of a terraced home to substantial extensions to homes on corner plots.

We’ve also completed the refurbishment of a substantial Edwardian home overlooking Oram’s Arbour. Our experience in Fulfood continues with us returning to work on homes a second time or for clients who have moved out of the area and keen to work with us again.

Whatever your project, we can demonstrate our experience and success across a broad range of property types in Fulflood giving you confidence that we can assist you with your home.
