Meet Mark Benzie

My architectural education in Aberdeen and Edinburgh provided a design-led foundation in technical and environmental principles. I honed my skills working across Sydney, Prague, and London with leading practices including Crone Architects, Jestico + Whiles, and Ellis Williams, designing and delivering high-quality residential schemes. These experiences taught me that luxury projects succeed through attention to detail as much as premium finishes—principles that apply to any budget, elevating the ordinary while preventing construction issues and costs at the design stage.

This expertise led to roles with major urban regeneration developers Galliard Homes and Berkeley Homes, where I managed complex residential-led projects as both architect and planning manager. Navigating intricate development processes and planning requirements became second nature. During this period, I also completed a postgraduate diploma in law, which continues to prove invaluable when negotiating complex or sensitive projects with planners.

My family and I have undertaken numerous property refurbishments and construction projects, giving me first-hand insight into maximizing value for my clients. I even designed and helped build a shop fitout that we successfully operated for nine years.

Beyond client work, I’m committed to serving my community through voluntary roles, including supporting our local pre-school management and serving as a primary school governor. Within my profession, I’ve contributed as a board member of the ARB and completed three terms as a council member of the RIBA.

I value the variety my work brings: the opportunity to help new clients realize their visions alongside long-standing relationships with trusted contractors, developers, and investors. I deliberately operate as a small business to ensure every client receives personal, expert service.
